Meet one of the fabulous singers for our upcoming Opera in the Park concert. DAVID PERIERA, TENORDavid Pereira was born in New York City. He has appeared in a variety of leading operatic tenor roles, nationally and internationally to great acclaim, most recently as Ernesto in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale with Miami Lyric Opera, where he resides as a resident artist. David was part of the prestigious Des Moines Metro Opera Young Artist Apprentice program where he appeared in scenes of Bernstein’s Candide as Candide, Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Barber of Seville, Alfred in Die Fledermaus and Chevalier de la force, in Dialogues of the Carmelites. Throughout his Opera career David has appeared in numerous roles with the most notable South Florida organizations such as the Miami Lyric Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Master Chorale of South Florida, the Hispanic-American Lyric Theatre, Coral Gables Opera & Chamber Orchestra, La Sociedad Pro Arte Grateli, The Miami Master Chorale, Civic Chorale of South Florida, among many others.
David is also active as a singer of oratorio with an extensive background, having performed many of the great works including; Handel’s Messiah, John Stainer’s Crucifixion, Puccini’s Messa Di Gloria, Franck’s Die Sieben Worte, Verdi’s Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, and many more. He has performed at the major historic South Florida churches and concert venues which include First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale, First Methodist Church of Coral Gables, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Chancel Choir, St. Mary’s Cathedral, the First Presbyterian Church of Pompano Beach and the Master Chorale of South Florida.
